Sedation Dentistry

Sedation Dentistry

The American Dental Association estimates that many Americans avoid dental visits due to fear and anxiety. Missing regular dental visits and checkups can result in tooth decay and dental infections, which could have been detected early on. We want to help you get back on the right path

To help provide you with a comfortable dental experience, our office offers several levels of care.

IV Sedation: IV Sedation or “twilight sleep” is the administration of an anti anxiety medication through an IV in your vein. You will be partially aware of your surroundings but the anti-anxiety medication will help relax you and allow you to feel at peace. Compared to other forms of sedation dentistry, IV Sedation acts relatively quickly with fewer side effects. Dr. Hsieh is a certified I.V. Sedation dentist who could help provide a calming and comfortable dental experience.

Oral Sedation: In Oral conscious sedation, a sedative, either in pill or liquid form, will be taken before your dental visit. Oral sedation will relax you to help fade away the anxiety and stress.

Nitrous Oxide: Nitrous oxide or laughing gas is a safe and effective way to help alleviate stress and anxiety during a dental visit. It is a mild sedative inhaled and has the benefit of a quick onset. It does not affect your motor skills so you are safe to drive home afterwards.
